Note: This building block lets players interact with an image by clicking on one or more predetermined parts of it. This image can be a photo, a screenshot of an important interface, some words, some figures, etc.

A mini-game in which the player must click on one or more areas in a picture or pictures.

The game will show one or more images, and players will have to click on a predetermined part of it. You can also mark areas as incorrect to increase the difficulty.

How to set it up

  1. Keep, modify or delete the “description.” This is optional, but it should be used to give players context.

In game, the description will be seen at the bottom of the screen and will be shown in game when the player clicks the mini-game information button. (Bottom left).

2. Choose an image.

3. Define the clickable area.

4. Give the clickable area a name.

5. Tell the game if that area is correct or incorrect.

6. If you want to add another clickable area for the player to find, click the “add clickable area” button again.

7. Choose if you want the other areas of the image not previously selected as “correct” to count as wrong when the player clicks on them.

8. Choose if you want the clickable areas to light up when the player hovers over them.

9. Choose whether you want the player to click on the correct areas in any specific order.

10. You can change the order of the clickable areas by dragging and dropping them.

11. You can edit a clickable area by clicking on the eraser.

12. You can decide if the player can solve the game by clicking on any of the correct answers.

13. You can click “add an image” and repeat the same process.

14. Help: the player can buy a hint or resolve the mini-game by clicking on the puzzle icon. The objective is to not block the player from advancing but they will usually lose points.

Note: The “Buy solution” option is always marked by default in order to not block the player in the game. You can unmark this option but take into consideration that the player will be stuck in the game if he doesn’t have the answer.

  • This building block is one of the most powerful and versatile in your arsenal. You can do a lot with it.
  • Mini-games can help you break the monotony of a course by making it more playful and interactive.
  • Mini-games are a great tool for constructing your story.
